Citizen Complaint Form

The Black Butte Ranch Police Department strives to fulfill its Mission through upholding all laws in an ethical, courteous, impartial and professional manner, while respecting the rights and dignity of all persons. Following this philosophy, the department diligently investigates complaints of misconduct that are filed against members of the department.

Personnel complaints include any allegation of misconduct or improper job performance that, if true, would constitute a violation of Department policy or of federal, state or local law, policy or rule. Personnel complaints may be generated internally or by the public.

Complaints about an officers conduct or performance that, if true, would not violate Department policy or federal, state or local law, policy or rule may be handled informally by a supervisor and shall not be considered a personnel complaint.

Individuals from the public may make complaints in any form, including in writing, by email, in person or by telephone.

Be advised that while we will accept and investigate anonymous complaints, this may make it harder for a supervisor to investigate the complaint as they will be unable to ask follow-up questions if needed. Additionally, those persons submitting anonymous complaints may not receive any follow-up communication from the Black Butte Ranch Police Department if contact information is not provided below.
